As head of risk research, Alex uses his risk and finance expertise to turn cyber data into meaningful underwriting decisions. He prices policies in much the same way he backs underwriting decisions — with facts and data.
His expertise comes from working over a decade in finance. He started his career as an accountant at EY, where he provided assurance services. After that, he was head of risk and CFO of Sigma Investment House. Most recently, prior to At-Bay, Alex was head of the economic department at Ascola Economic Consulting, where he led risk-consulting services for banks and financial institutions.
And though he's risk-aware, he isn't risk-averse. From rock climbing and hiking to skiing and diving, he loves anything that involves nature and a bit of adrenaline. And as someone passionate about statistics, Alex is delighted to be the father of two identical twins, which statistically speaking is rare.
As a software engineer, Assaf channels extensive Python experience into delivering the most innovative and robust development infrastructures for At-Bay.
It's a job he was meant to do. His father is an insurance broker, after all, and since 2006, he's worked as a software developer with a dual focus on cyber and security, most recently as a senior member of the engineering team at Cisco. What's more, he's worked in the past with several members of the At-Bay team. He was a natural fit from day one.
Perhaps most important, he brings to the job an affinity for solving seemingly impossible problems. For Assaf—who says he does his best work between the hours of 3 and 5 a.m.—"nothing is impossible" is a mantra.
And it's a mantra that extends beyond the walls of the office. Whether he's playing sports or indulging his passion for music, Assaf believes the clearest path to personal growth is to push himself to do things he's never done before.
As cyber underwriting manager at At-Bay, Ben focuses on the development of the insurance product and the creation and deployment of underwriting processes. This includes work on everything from the rate plan, to policy forms and endorsements, to administration software, to underwriting strategies and guidelines.
Upon seeing his first standalone cyber insurance product, Ben was fascinated. He found that it was unique not only in how it combined both first- and third-party coverage, but also in how the rate plans were devised, given the lack of historical actuarial data. Insuring a constantly evolving risk was a challenge he was eager to take on.
Before At-Bay, Ben held various positions in cyber, management and professional liability at leading carriers like Travelers, RLI and Tokio Marine. He's also worked with both publicly traded and private companies in a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, startup, venture capital and pharma/biotech.

As Head of Insurance, Brett focuses on growth (despite not being very tall himself). He empowers the underwriting team with the tools and skills they need to get brokers the coverage their clients deserve.
Like many in the world of insurance, Brett accidentally found his way into the industry. After 5 years working as a pilot in the Navy, his first job in the insurance business was at AIG in California where he stayed for 11 years. He eventually moved to New York City to bring Hiscox’s insurance products to the US. His proudest accomplishment was growing Hiscox to $1B in premium during his tenure as their Head of Field.
So what brings Brett back west to the bay area? The opportunity to combine his “East Coast” insurance know-how with “West Coast” technology. He loves At-Bay’s technical approach to cyber underwriting, and can’t wait to use it to build the next great insurance company from the ground up.
As a product manager, Caitlin champions the needs of insurance brokers, making sure all of At-Bay’s customer-facing platforms and tools are helpful, user friendly, and ahead of the curve.
Some days Caitlin shares prototypes with brokers. Other days she reviews mock-ups with designers or solves problems with software engineers. The one thing that stays constant? Caitlin’s love for coming to work at a place where no two days are alike.
Before joining At-Bay, Caitlin led a research team at L2 Inc., where she helped retail brands use data to improve their digital marketing and e-commerce strategies. Her goal at At-Bay is no different – translate research and data into features that help organizations understand and minimize their cyber risk.
Caitlin’s passion for creative problem solving doesn’t start and stop at work. In her free time, she watches documentaries, reads murder-mysteries, and takes art classes.
As a software engineer, Doron focuses on At-Bay's software infrastructure as well as the Broker Platform and tools to ensure they function securely while providing brokers with a smooth experience for selling cyber insurance policies to their clients.
Doron lives to simplify complex problems. Take the Broker Platform, for example: To make it functional and easy to use, he simplified its architecture and code. To do this, he draws on his master's degree in electrical engineering and more than six years of experience as an all-round software engineer and web developer for Cisco and various startups.
But it's not all stern professionalism. He believes the At-Bay team is unmatched when it comes to humor. A good laugh, he says, helps build the team's trust and understanding, and ultimately makes solving complex problems that much more fun.
And just as the company emphasizes working hard and playing hard, Doron does too. At day's end, he looks forward to the basketball court and the piano — all in the name of keeping his body and fingers fit for the next hard day of coding.
Duncan brings At-Bay's insurance policies to market. He approaches every part of his job with optimism and levity, from the tactical work of convincing brokers about the value of At-Bay, to the strategic work of market research, customer segmentation, and executing strategic partnerships.
Before joining At-Bay Duncan worked at Gartner as a senior strategy analyst where he identified high-growth markets, incubated new products, and took those new products to market. His clients' greatest concerns? How to quantify and efficiently mitigate technology risk. After realizing that insurance companies are in the best position to solve that challenge and empower organizations to make innovative products and services, he decided to join the At-Bay team.
When he's not working with the At-Bay team, he's playing fullback for his rugby team. And if he needs something a bit more relaxing, Duncan likes to write and record music.
As a software engineer at At-Bay, Gali focuses on creating an internal system that helps manage the underwriting process — a technical challenge she thrives on solving.
Her affinity for problem solving began when she was a software engineer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Her IDF team motto, "Everything is possible," is something she lives by today, believing the best thing to do in the face of a challenge is to keep trying until she succeeds.
Gali's experience in the army also taught her that a successful team is a friendly team. Working with friends, she says, enhances the team's willingness to work together and to ask for help when needed.
Even when she's working out, Gali's looking for new challenges. She believes that although you may stumble along the way, with goals set and a lot of hard work, you can achieve what you set out to do.
As a Cyber Underwriter, Jeff evaluates cyber risk for companies across all industries and sizes. He also gives brokers world class service day in and day out, skills he honed as an Apple Genius and as a member of Kaiser Permanente’s pricing solutions team.
Jeff learned the fundamentals of insurance at CNA. After finishing his training program, he became an Underwriter where he managed a portfolio of tech companies. His interest in new technologies led him to At-Bay, where technology and security expertise enable him to help brokers teach their clients about cyber security while providing a better insurance product.
When the travel bug bit Jeff while studying abroad in Taiwan, he developed a passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures through food. Wether its slurping soup dumplings in Taipei or devouring anticuchos in Lima, Jeff hopes to eat his way through 30 countries before he turns 30 — 1 snack at a time.
As product manager, Matt takes At-Bay's technology products from concept to execution. An average day may include interviewing users, sketching new product ideas with the design team, troubleshooting issues with the engineers, or poring over data to figure out new ways to share insights with brokers and clients.
Working with a team with endless ideas has its challenges, but Matt brings patience, an open ear and the ability to weigh many different options—and, when the time comes, the drive to get things done.
Matt has a degree in computer science from Yale and experience as a senior business analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he solved business problems for senior executives. He puts that experience to use at At-Bay by building business solutions for technical problems.

As operations manager, Moran runs the Mountain View office operations and communicates on an ongoing basis with the Tel Aviv office. She works closely with the team, making sure operations run smoothly and that people's time is productive and enjoyable.
Moran has nine years of operations and administration management experience at various companies both in Israel and the U.S. Equally important, she has experience making people laugh as hard as they work. She's known Tami for years, and upon meeting the rest of the team, she connected immediately. She believes this mutual respect encourages teamwork and shared learning.

With this understanding, he's able to design better solutions for reducing cyber risk. Ricardo used a similar approach in the past, working on a variety of projects at creative agencies.
Taiwanese by blood, Ricardo was born in Brazil and raised in Toronto, then moved to New York before settling most recently in San Francisco. No wonder, then, that he has a knack for putting himself in the shoes of everyone he meets.

When he isn't building a company from scratch, Rotem is building just about any DIY project he can dream up. Most recently: a six-layer rainbow cake for his daughter's third birthday.
Roy is head of product for At-Bay, meaning he guides the engineering team, keeps the team in sync, and builds a great product that fits the market.
Once he learned the complexity of cyber insurance and met the At-Bay team, Roy was sold. He sees cyber insurance as a crossword puzzle, complex and challenging to solve. Depending on the context, Roy tailors his approach to solving this complex problem accordingly. Sometimes that means hand-waving high concepts, and other times that means highly detailed and specific direction. Either way, he's there to guide his team to success.
A jack of all trades, Roy brings 15 years of experience working with data products and analytics in the U.S. and Israel. He finds his eclectic career path as a director of product management, financial analyst and programmer helps connect dots in unique ways. And since this cyber insurance puzzle has a lot of distinct, freewheeling dots that need connecting, it works out pretty well.
Outside of work, Roy charms people with his guitar and kind-hearted nature. When he's not being one of the kindest people you'll meet, he's being the most sarcastic.
As VP R&D, Shimi selects the right software tools and infrastructure for, as he puts it, a double-headed monster: a technical, sophisticated, cyber-learning platform paired with an insurance company.
Now a veteran captain of the Israel Defense Forces, he learned all he knows about computers from his service in the army. After that, he spent 20 years in different high-tech industry roles, building, managing and supervising numerous successful software projects at Intucell, Infinidat and C-Soft.
Drawing from his experience, and perhaps natural talent, Shimi has a good eye for bad processes, quickly identifying when something isn't working. And then, ever a team player, relaying that to the team to better improve the process.

She is everyone's favorite person; a shoulder to lean on and an unofficial laughter therapist. With what she learns listening to and observing the needs of the team, Tami helps individuals and teams meet their potential and grow as people and professionals.
Previously, as a M&A lawyer, Tami worked with clients at a detailed level and constantly learned about new technologies. That experience enabled her to communicate well and identify the needs of different teams so they can work happily and effectively.
What led her to cyber insurance? Tami says she was attracted to the combination of the highly regulated world of insurance and the highly dynamic world of cyber. Upon learning the depth of the problem At-Bay is trying to solve within those two worlds, she was hooked.
Both at work and in her spare time, Tami is all about time efficiency. As a mother of two toddlers, she rarely gets a moment to herself. When she does, she's pretty passionate about sleeping — in 20-minute power naps, of course.

The moment Yonatan met the At-Bay team, he saw a fire within them to do good and change the world. This atmosphere paired with cyber and statistics made At-Bay a company he wanted to be a part of.
Prior to joining At-Bay, Yonatan served for six years in the Israel Defense Forces, working in cyber research.
